## NZ ADHD Medication Information
In New Zealand, ADHD is treated with stimulant medications (methylphenidate brands: Ritalin, Rubifen, Concerta; amphetamine: dexamfetamine, lisdexamfetamine/Vyvanse) and non-stimulants (atomoxetine). These are Class B controlled drugs regulated by Medsafe. Funding is managed by Pharmac via Special Authority (SA2590, SA2591). From February 2026, GPs and nurse practitioners can initiate prescribing for adults without specialist referral.
